Hobbit Door Drawer Box

ITS A HOBBIT HOUSE!

So this lovely log box is made from spalted  maple wood and has one drawer. I drew on and wood burned the design onto the front of the drawer by hand. The little door knob pull is made from metal. The Green door and brown "brick" colors were done with watercolor paints that have soaked into the wood but still allowing some of the grain pattern to be seen through it. Some of the natural cracks in the wood have been filled with green colored resin. The piece has been coated in a Danish Oil finish, which soaks into the wood and hardens it from the inside out so you should never have to worry about doing anything to it and just enjoy its beauty over the years.
