Cherry Burl

This Single drawer log box is made from a solid piece of Cherry Burl wood found in Youngsville Pennsylvania. A burl is a growth on a tree that is a result of the tree being damaged. Burls have a different grain pattern than the rest of the tree. The grain inside a burl is twisted, which can make burls very difficult to work with. Despite the unpredictable nature of the wood, burls are highly sought after for the beautiful patterns that can be found once cut open. The drawer of this piece has been lined in a burgundy colored flocking to help protect your treasures inside for years to come. The piece has been coated in Danish Oil finish, which soaks into the wood and hardens it from the inside out so you should never have to worry about doing anything to it and just enjoy its beauty over the years.
